RAS Karaoke
Privacy Policy for RAS Karaoke.
Last updated: October 28, 2026
RAS Karaoke is provided by Ramos Apps Studio. This policy explains how the RAS Karaoke Android app (package com.rask.karaoke) handles information. It covers the karaoke player; a separately distributed content-pack or remote-client app may have its own policy.
Summary
RAS Karaoke plays songs and other media you make available on your device or connected storage. It uses local files and settings for song discovery, lyrics, favorites and playback. Optional features include microphone monitoring, voice search, live camera backgrounds and local-network remote control.
Songs, files and local settings
The app accesses selected song catalogs, MIDI and audio files, soundfonts, background images or videos, and custom fonts on internal storage, SD cards or USB storage. It processes file names, paths, song titles, artist names, lyrics and catalog metadata to find and play your content. Local indexes and caches help the app load your library. Favorites, preferences and playback settings are stored on the device. Recent playback information can also be held during a player session.
Storage or all-files access is used to discover and read the RASK content folders and to maintain the app's content indexes. Grant only the access you are comfortable providing. Files on shared or removable storage remain separate from the app's private data.
Microphone and voice search
When microphone monitoring is enabled, the app processes microphone audio for live playback and effects. This processing is part of the device's audio session. You can disable microphone monitoring in the app and revoke microphone permission in Android settings.
Voice search uses the speech-recognition service configured on your Android device. When you start voice search, that service receives your speech and returns recognized text to search your library. Depending on your device and provider, recognition may use an internet service. The provider's privacy terms apply to its handling of speech. RAS Karaoke does not control that provider's retention practices. You can use typed search without starting voice search.
Camera and visual backgrounds
With your permission, the live camera background feature uses an available camera to display a background in the player. The app also reads images or videos you choose from your local content folders. Camera access and file access support these player features; they are not an instruction to share that content with Ramos Apps Studio.
Local-network remote control
When remote connections are enabled, the player runs a local-network service and advertises its availability on the local network. Compatible connected clients can receive song-library information, lyrics, the current song, playback progress, queue and player-control state, and can send playback commands. Network addresses and connection information are processed to establish these connections.
This feature is intended for a trusted local network. Do not expose its port directly to the internet or use it on a network where other participants should not be able to access the player. Disable remote connections in the app when you do not want to share player information or accept commands. Information already received by a remote client is subject to that client's handling.
Collection, sharing and third-party services
The core player does not require a Ramos Apps Studio online account or upload your local song library, camera background or microphone-monitoring stream to a Ramos Apps Studio cloud account. The current player has no advertising or analytics service configured to collect your activity for Ramos Apps Studio. We do not sell personal information through RAS Karaoke.
Optional speech recognition, external links, your device's operating system and any remote client can involve services outside the core player. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots or diagnostic details, and use it to respond and troubleshoot. Avoid sending private recordings, activation details or other sensitive information unless needed for your request.
Retention and deletion
Local settings and app-private indexes remain until you change or remove them, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Session-only information is cleared when the relevant session ends. Clearing app data or uninstalling does not necessarily delete song files, indexes or other content on shared storage, SD cards or USB drives. You can remove those files with your device's file manager.
You can revoke permissions in Android settings, disable microphone and remote features, and disconnect removable storage. Denying required access can prevent the corresponding feature or song discovery from working. To request deletion of information you have sent directly to support, contact us using the address below; some correspondence may need to be retained for legitimate support or legal purposes.
Children and security
The current player does not include child-directed advertising or profiling. If you believe a child has sent personal information to our support address, contact us so we can review and address it.
We use the device's app storage and permission controls for local app data. Protect your device, content folders and local network, and use trusted remote clients. No software or network can guarantee absolute security.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The date above identifies this version.
